Hi All, Have just started to apply some weathering. First went a clear cote (Sidolux, a Polish Future), then wash (Deep Grey Panel Liner) and pigments (Gunmetal and Smoke from AK) were applied. This gives a shading effect, probably a little too strong in some places - but that can be easily fixed. Stay tuned 🙂 Best … Continue reading In the workshop: Kawasaki Ki-61-I Hien | ST 28 Hasegawa 1:32 Part 5 – weathering

Kawasaki Ki-61-II Kai Hien 56. Sentai | RS Models 1:48
Hi All, I have just finished her. The RS Models kit probably represents the production version of the Ki-61-II-Kai, armed with 2 x 12.7 mm (.50 in) machine guns in the wings and 2 x 20 mm cannon in the fuselage. In this version it returned to the wings of the Ki-61-I-Tei, fuselage was extended … Continue reading Kawasaki Ki-61-II Kai Hien 56. Sentai | RS Models 1:48
In the workshop: Arsenal VG.36 C1 | Azur 1:48 – Part 4: exhausts and lights
Hi All, Managed to glue the exhausts in - I don't know, if it is possible to install them so that they are straight, or it's just me and my poor skills... Anyway, I'm rather not able to make it better. Position and landing lights added and sanded smooth. Seems it's approaching the painting stage. … Continue reading In the workshop: Arsenal VG.36 C1 | Azur 1:48 – Part 4: exhausts and lights
In the workshop: Ki-61-II Kai | RS Models 1:48 Part. 2 – standing on her wheels
Hi there! Seems that it's the highest time to finish the little Swallow. She's standing on her wheels now, and all that's needed to be done is some detailing: antenna mast and wire, some weathering and final varnish. Undercarriage legs have been reinforced with wire pieces which were glued into the holes drilled in the the legs … Continue reading In the workshop: Ki-61-II Kai | RS Models 1:48 Part. 2 – standing on her wheels
In the workshop: Arsenal VG.36 C1 | Azur 1:48 – Part 3: canopy
Hi All The next step is the canopy. Azur provides us with two vacuum formed canopies, so one has a second chance... but the main problem is that what we get in the box is a VG.33's fuselage and VG.36's canopy, which doesn't fit at all... First I marked the outline of the windshield on the hull. … Continue reading In the workshop: Arsenal VG.36 C1 | Azur 1:48 – Part 3: canopy
In the workshop: Arsenal VG.36 C1 | Azur 1:48 – Part 2: primed
Hi All, A little progress with Arsenal, but still progress. I tore the horizontal tail away, it was tilted forward relative to the plane's axis - looking at the plans, it did not look like that, therefore I made a cut at a slight angle, and it's much better now. Then sanding, sanding soooo much, … Continue reading In the workshop: Arsenal VG.36 C1 | Azur 1:48 – Part 2: primed
In the workshop: Ki-61-II Kai | RS Models 1:48
Hi All, It seems that I have some sort of weakness for Ki-61. Have completed one this year, started a large scale Hien right after that and could not resist starting two more|: Ki-100 from Hasegawa (now waiting for some aftermarket parts) and Ki-61-II Kai from RS Models. Not bad kit as you can see, but i decided … Continue reading In the workshop: Ki-61-II Kai | RS Models 1:48
In the workshop: Arsenal VG.36 C1 | Azur 1:48
Hi All, To get some "rest" from all the Hiens I made and I'm currently building (there are two more to be honest, Ki-100 from Hasegawa and Ki-61-II Kai from RS Models, both in 1:48th scale) I decided to start something a bit different and more challenging: Azur's VG.36. The kit entered the production in … Continue reading In the workshop: Arsenal VG.36 C1 | Azur 1:48
In the workshop: Kawasaki Ki-61-I Hien | ST 28 Hasegawa 1:32 Part 4
And a major progress with a large scale Tony: sprayed with Vallejo Liquid Silver and white Gunze H paint. Then with a heart in my mouth I pilled of the masks and ... my patient survived - looks almost like I have wished. There are some areas that require some attention, but overall I'm satisfied … Continue reading In the workshop: Kawasaki Ki-61-I Hien | ST 28 Hasegawa 1:32 Part 4
In the workshop: Kawasaki Ki-61-I Hien | ST 28 Hasegawa 1:32 Part 3
Hi All, Keep on moving forward: - glued in the fuselage armament (Master) - glued in the guns' cover, this will still need some attention, - added tubing of fuel installation in the cockpit, - the canopy was masked inside, - added pylons for the tanks under the wings. Here some attention is needed - … Continue reading In the workshop: Kawasaki Ki-61-I Hien | ST 28 Hasegawa 1:32 Part 3
