In the workshop: Ki-43-II Hayabusa | Hasegawa 1:32, part 2

Hi, All

It’s been a while since my last update and indeed, there’s some progress in my builds.

First of all worth to mention, that the Hayabusa hasn’t gotten as much attention lately, as I think she deserves. Lot of other launched builds, including two rather ambitious resin kits, PZL P.7 from Arma Hobby and Avia B.135 from Planet Models, both in 1:48th scale – to be posted here when done, you may find both at modelwork.pl – taking part in the Autumn Contest.

Yesterday I finally found enough time to come back to the Hayabusa. Painting such a big airframe, with all the masking and cleaning the airbrush between each colour require at least two hours of peace and quiet, believe me or not, not easy taking into account that the family and professional life take first two places in my to do list.

The markings on the tail are painted using Gunze’s Thundirbirds set of paints. Duraluminium came from Vallejo, and aotake from Tamiya. Black is Gunze’s tire black, some corrections will be required around the canopy. IJA Grey on the stabilizers and ailerons came also from Gunze.

The decals will follow, with a DYI Racoon Special inscription and US national markings from Techmod.

Hope you like it :). Stay tuned, best regards
Hubert
