M1A2 Abrams in the SEP TUSK II variant in the colours of the 1st Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment of the U.S. Army in Iraq, July 2006.
I rate Meng’s model highly – the details are perhaps a bit simplified in places, and there are no photo-etched parts – but it is a well-fitted kit, easy to assemble quickly; only the tracks required some work, which unfortunately shows.
I can recommend it to anyone, regardless of their level of experience.
As is often the case with me, the so-called old school, i.e. miniature, was primed, painted, and slightly weathered. I used MRP-080 Desert Tan as the base colour. Washes from Modellers World (Deep Black) and AK Interactive (PLW Dust), pigments from AK Interactive and Mig – both labelled ‘North Africa Dust’, but they have different shades.
Here it is; I hope you like it.
