In the workshop: PZL. 43 | Mirage Hobby 1:48. Part 2 – a tough kit

Hi All,

This kit is a pig indeed. Parts do not fit, the plastic is brittle and quite problematic with regard to the way it works with a glue (especially Tamiya’s Extra Thin) – dries for hours. In addition to that it seems, that the photo-etched fret in my kit is missing, as some instructions show that such photo-etched bits should be used, but there was nothing like that in the box. Anyway, I’m going to replace most of that with plastic and photo-etched set from Eduard dedicated to MH’s PZL.23 Karaś, which shared many features with PZL.43.

The engine cowling wasn’t molded well, it needed to be repaired with a plastic bit inserted with CA and filed to the shape pf the cowling – I’m rather happy with the result.

Anyway, I managed to achieve some progress, so that it now looks really good – it was a magnificent war machine, looking like anything else these days. Hope, that you like it too.

Stay tuned, best regards

Hubert
