AMX-30B in the colours of the 5ème Régiment De Cuirassiers “Royal Pologne”. The unit’s history is linked to Poland. In 1725, King Louis XV of France bought the regiment belonging to the Marquis de Monteils. After his marriage to Maria Karolina Zofia Felicja Leszczyńska, a Polish princess, he gave it as a gift to his father-in-law Stanisław Leszczyński, the former (and future) king of Poland, and it was under the name of King Stanisław that the regiment participated in campaigns from 1733 to 1735. By order of 30 March 1737, the regiment was given the name Royal Pologne, and it was under this name that the regiment reverted to the King of France. This tradition has survived to the present day. It is expressed, among other things, by the unit’s emblem depicting a white eagle and the inscription Royal Pologne – complementing the royal motto Nec Pluribus Impar.
The model shows a vehicle stationed in Kaiserslautern, Germany, in the 1970s.

I can describe the model produced by Meng with one adjective: superb. Excellent fit, simple construction, working torsion bar suspension, great tracks—nothing to add. The only addition to the miniature is a VoyagerModel turned barrel. Other than that, I applied some ‘ageing’ against the boxed version. It was painted with Gunze paints, mud from Gunze, and AK pigments, including liquid pigments, for the first time—not a bad thing. Tracks were treated with a Tensocrom kit from Lifecolor.
